Primary Care

The majority of the primary care offered at Open Door is done at 905 S. Walnut Street in Muncie.  Primary Care services  include acute (i.e. new issues) and chronic (i.e. long term issues) care, annual physicals, and other preventative services.

Cost of services: If you do not have health insurance, our sliding fee scale can help you save up to 80% on our services, based on your household income and family size.

Primary Care Providers

 

Joseph C. Dickey, M.D.

Joseph Charles (Chuck) Dickey was born in Tipton, Indiana and is a graduate of Tipton High School. He completed a B.S. degree in chemistry at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 1989, and graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1993. A U.S. Army medical officer, he was stationed at White Sands, New Mexico 1994-1998. After his military service, he completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Ball Memorial Hospital. He resides in Muncie with his wife and daughter.

 

         

 

Vipin Jain, M.D.

A part-time board certified family practice physician, Dr. Jain graduated from the University of Indore, M.G.M. Medical College, Indore, Indiana in January 1990.  He comes to Open Door with a well-rounded curriculum of education to include a fellowship from Indiana University, graduate research at the University of Cincinnati and a recipient of the prestigious Harvard scholarship for implementing innovative Chronic Disease Management.  He served as the former Medical Director at the Madison County Community Health Center.  Dr. Jain lives with his family in Anderson.

 

Michelle Hicks, Nurse Practitioner

An alumnus of Muncie Southside High School, Michelle Hicks received her BS and MS in Nursing from Ball State University.  She has worked as a nurse at Ball Memorial Hospital and has taught nursing at Ivy Tech Community College.  She will work with adult primary care patients at the Walnut St. facility.

 

Brandy Dantzer, Nurse Practitioner

Brandy Dantzer's background is an expansive one, as she has experience with medical surgical nursing, coronary and medical intensive care nursing, allergy and asthma nursing and three years as a full-time RN instructor in classroom and clinical settings at Ivy Tech Community College Fort Wayne.  She primarily taught medical surgical nursing, critical care nursing, and pharmacology.  She received her Master's of Science in Nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University in Fort Wayne.  She enjoys jogging, listening to music, and meeting new people.  She and her husband, Ron, also enjoy watching their son and daughter play sports.
