Joseph C. Dickey, M.D.,
Medical Director
Joseph Charles (Chuck) Dickey was born in Tipton,
Indiana and is a graduate of Tipton High School. He completed a
B.S. degree in chemistry at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
in 1989, and graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine
in 1993. A U.S. Army medical officer, he was stationed at White
Sands, New Mexico 1994-1998. After his military service, he completed
a residency in Internal Medicine at Ball Memorial Hospital. He
resides in Muncie with his Wife. |

Elizabeth
Treese, M.D.
A board certified internal medicine specialist,
Dr. Treese has spent much of her professional career working as a
Medical Coordinator and Medical Consultant in
Kathmandu
,
Nepal
. She was educated at
Indiana
University
and did her residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital in
Indianapolis.
Prior to being
employed by Open Door/BMH Health Center, she worked for local
physician, Dr. James Dunn. Dr.
Treese is married and has three children. |

Eric
Unzicker, M.D.
Growing up in Goshen, Indiana, Dr. Eric
Unzicker graduated with a degree in English from Goshen College.
Prior to coming to Open Door, he had spent the last six years as a
General Medical Officer with the U.S. Indiana Health Service in
Crownpoint, New Mexico. An American Board of Family Medicine
certified physician, Dr. Unzicker is a 1994 Indiana University
graduate. He enjoys outdoor activities such as backpacking,
canoeing and mountain biking. Dr. Unzicker lives in Farmland with
his wife Sheri and their young son.

Elizabeth Pino, M.D.
Local resident and Indiana University graduate, Dr. Elizabeth Pino
has been a pediatrician since the mid 90s. She worked at Cardinal
Health Systems before coming to Open Door in August, 2007. Prior to
being a physician, Dr. Pino worked at Riley Hospital for Children as
an RN for several years. Dr. Pino is board certified. She lives in
Muncie with her twin sons. |

Darrell Hofer, M.D.
Dr. Darrell Hofer has worked at
the Southway Urgent Care since 1994. He came on board when SUC
operations were moved from Cardinal Health Systems to Open Door
January 2007. His impressive career includes primary and secondary
specialties of emergency medicine and family medicine respectively
with board certifications. He is a veteran of the United States
Navy and a resident of Yorktown with his wife and college-aged son.

Max Rudicel, M.D.
A life long
resident of Delaware County, Dr. Rudicel has delivered more than
5000 babies in his family practice career. Graduating from Indiana
University in 1970, he has been with Open Door/BMH Health Center
since 1997. In private practice for 17 years, he continues as emergency
room physician at Ball Memorial Hospital. In addition, Dr. Rudicel
serves as the Muncie city school physician and jail physician. He
outlasted the entire Missouri State Police force, among others,
to win the National Head Start Humanitarian Award several years
ago. |

S. Renee Gregg, Nurse Practitioner
A former labor and delivery nurse as well as surgery nurse, Renee
graduated with her master’s degree from Ball State University in
July 2007. She is a certified family nurse practitioner. Growing
up in Hartford City, Renee and her husband live in Yorktown with
their son. |

Paula Lowe, Nurse Practitioner
A high energy individual, Paula Lowe’s
background included experience as an ICU nurse at Miami Valley
Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. She returned to Indiana Wesleyan
University to work on her master’s degree and graduated with honors
in 2006. Paula worked as a family nurse practitioner in an urgent
care in North Carolina as well as a retail clinic in Cincinnati
prior to being hired at Open Door. She lives in Richmond with her
two sons. |

Robin Cooper, Nurse Practitioner
Project Supervisor for Open Door’s Family Planning
Clinic, Robin Cooper has been in women’s health care for a long
time. She earned a B.S. degree in nursing from Ball State University
in 1991, and completed her M.S. in nursing from the University of
Phoenix in 2002. A clinician at Planned Parenthood, she later became
the Program Consultant for Title X with the Indiana Family Health
Council. In her spare time, Robin camps with her family, bowls and
spoils her granddaughter.

Cindy Evans, Nurse Practitioner
Cindy splits her time between the Open
Door Anderson Family Planning office on Tuesday and Thursday and the
3715 S Madison street facility practicing women’s health on Monday
and Wednesday. She has worked in women’s health since 1994. She
received her national certification in 1998 and her master’s degree
from Ball State University in 2003. She began her
women’s health career at Planned Parenthood, and worked for over 9
years with the Indiana Family Health Council in Indianapolis as a
nurse practitioner and program consultant. She enjoys spending time
with her 2 young children, swimming, reading, and music. Cindy and
her family reside in New Castle.

Vipin Jain,
M.D.
A part time board certified
family practice physician, Dr. Jain graduated from the University of
Indore, M.G.M. Medical College, Indore, Indiana in January 1990. He
comes to Open Door with a well-rounded curriculum of education to
include a fellowship from Indiana University, graduate research at
the University of Cincinnati and a recipient of the prestigious
Harvard scholarship for implementing innovative Chronic Disease
Management. He served as the former Medical Director at the Madison
County Community Health Center. Dr. Jain lives with his family in
Anderson.

Stephen Kirkman,
M.D.
Another Anderson resident, Dr. Stephen Kirkman
has come back to Open Door after a few year absence. He works part
time at Open Door between the primary care and urgent care clinics.
A 1992 Indiana University School of Medicine graduate and board
certified physician, Dr. Kirkman also works at one of the St. John’s
facilities in Madison County. In his other life away from medicine,
Dr. Kirkman has served as a pastor and makes several mission trips a
year. He lives in Anderson with his wife and four children.

William Gosnell, Nurse Practitioner
A 2006 master’s degree graduate from Indiana
Wesleyan University, Bill Gosnell works part time nights and
weekends at the urgent care site. He has worked with Open Door
since August 2006 where he began at the 905 S Walnut, and then
transferred to the urgent care facility in January 2007. In his day
job, Bill serves as the Director of the Delaware County Management
Agency. He lives in Yorktown with his wife. We are glad he is on
our staff! |

Kimberly
A Koch, D.D.S., Dental Director
Dr. Koch served as a temporary Dental Director
on loan to us from the
Madison
County
Community
Health
Center
in 2004. In August 2005,
she accepted a two-year contract as the permanent Dental Director
for the Open Door Dental Clinic.
A 2002
Indiana
University
graduate, Dr. Koch has
participated in several community-wide children’s fairs as well as
an outreach mission in
Haiti
performing dental services and education to the inhabitants. Dr.
Koch and her husband are the proud parents of two sons. |

Ted L. Fullhart,
D.D.S, Dentist
A 1955 Albany High School graduate, Dr. Fullhart had a private
practice in Muncie prior to coming to the Open Door Dental Clinic.
He is a graduate of Ball State University and Indiana University,
and completed a dental internship while in the Navy in San Diego,
California. He taught predental students at BSU for 20 years. In
1956, he received an appointment to the Army Military Academy by
Senator William Jenner. An avid athlete, Dr. Fullhart competes in
several triathlons a year. He also snowshoes, skis, fly-fishes and
mountain climbs.

Bird, Dental Hygienist
Indiana
University-Purdue Ft. Wayne graduate, April Bird has been with the
Dental Clinic full-time since August 2005.
Her professional history includes employment with two
prominent
Muncie
dentists. Career Day at
her alma mater
Wapahani
High School
peaked her interest in the dental professions.
April is also a spinning instructor at the YMCA and is
getting ready for her first mini-marathon in 2006.
She is married and has two wonderful children.
